Mm. You know, I agree.

[ There's a morose smile on Vax's face as he looks away, watches as the procession continues. It's hard not to think of all the people he's lost in his life, even if none of them are here and none of them are the ones being mourned. ]

There are so many people I've known who didn't get the proper send-off they deserved. [ His own mother being one of them. ] I can only hope that mine is just as beautiful.

[ And then he takes a deep breath, shakes his head to get out of that mindset. He doesn't know what his funeral looked like, if Vox Machina even held one for him. There was no body to bury, after all. But he's here now, he seems to be alive, and he plans to make the most of it. ]

I'm pretty sure these things are just as much for those of us still standing as they are for the ones lost, for just such a purpose. It lets the rest of us know that someone out there cared, and that none of us are quite as alone as we think we are.

[ And there's a sort of embarrassed laugh. ] Sorry. I've had.. a lot of time to think about these sorts of things.
