At that, she actually laughed a little bit. "A lot of things," she said. "I've never been on a ship. Or danced on a table. Never eaten a coconut. Been kissed. Pierced my ears. Ridden a hot air balloon. Had a pet. Been to a wedding..."

She trailed off.

"These all sound pretty small, don't they? Hardly worth regretting."

But she did. She regretted them so much. And more.

Small things built up to bigger things. That was the nature of existence.
