Jim smiled a little at that pause, nodding. "It's alright, I can handle it," he said. There was a bit of sting but nothing he couldn't easily bite back, sucking on the inside of his cheek and digging his teeth into it so he could keep himself distracted. He barely let out a soft little hum at the hint of pain, but it was far from the worst he'd felt, and he could easily manage it without worrying Alice overmuch.

"Alright, that's good," he said once she was one, reaching for a tube of ointment. "We'll dab a bit of this now, it'll help the wound heal faster. Use the wipe to spread it out," he said, putting some ointment on the wound and then waiting for her to do as instructed.
