Jim did mean it when he said that John would have a hard time offending Jim in any way. Albeit a little bit flustered, he's very much relieved to hear John speak so candidly. He just wishes it wouldn't take some honesty curse for that to happen more often, because this side of him is absolutely delightful.

"Hey, I'm laughing with you, not at you," he chuckles, swatting a hand lightly at John's arm. "But see, I told you I wouldn't be upset. You're my friend and you're important to me, John, nothing's ever gonna change that."
