It probably looked as awkward as it felt.  Connor tried to cradle the wriggling ball of energy in his hands just as he was instructed to do so, though it proved difficult over the persistent wet nose in his face. But Connor didn't seem to mind, he smiled softly and said, "'Hello' to you too."
