"All right." Connor glanced back down at the dog in his arms who tilted his head comically in response. Logically, it would be sufficient to call him 'boy' and keep that name since it was something he was already accustomed to, but that probably wouldn't be very personal. 

"I've never named anything before but I'm sure I can think of something." He observed. With another glance up he nodded, "Thank you for all of your help, Jim."
