"I don't see why you would complain that much; it's not as if there are that many books in this building."

It was one of the things about this place he had found rather irritating. Ye Zun might not be as learned as his older twin, but he still enjoyed reading and still loved finding a new book to pursue. He wasn't sure why she was going through the books the way she was, but he had long ago stopped questioning humans and their weirdness in favor of just flat out hating them in principle. This place may be forcing him to work with the race, but he still wasn't going to fully be their friend.

Brushing past her, he looked over this shelf - the books all handmade, the pages thick and written in a neat concise hand, the bindings of woven fiber, the covers of thin wood and painted with images of strange creatures or looming caves - and slid another one in place. He stood back for a moment to eye the whole shelf before brushing his sleeves and turning back the human.

"Why are you looking for a coin in a library?"
