morning: welcome to asgard

Characters wake up in the welcome room as described on the premise page, perhaps feeling a bit under the weather. But as they exit the castle with Frigg and Sigyn, they'll find themselves under a bright morning sun with clear skies - and dozens of people frantically flitting from one thing to another. Natives will be bustling around, quickly trying to set up seating or preparing clothes, whatever these new guests might need upon arrival. The Gods of Asgard will be among them, some helping set up while others still remain in place for questions, as they are sure there will be many.

It's a little bit chaotic, but such is life in Yggdrasil. Ask your questions and find your feet, but move quickly; you have to select a god house by the end of the day. No characters can move forward in the game without being placed in a god house.

afternoon/evening: the lantern festival

Throughout the day, natives will be handing out paper lanterns in various shapes and sizes. Your character can feel free to grab one (or two or three, they're not counting) to decorate or write on. When the sun sets, all the lanterns begin to glow and rise into the air, suspending just above everyone's heads in a river of golden light. Natives will be setting up blankets and cushions for people to lounge beneath the lanterns, and there will be various fruits and light ales available for food and drink. Gentle music seems to strum in the background all night, despite no visible source for the music.

midnight: the silent disco

At midnight, the lanterns all start strobing with bright colors and hypnotic patterns. Confetti bursts into the air randomly, sending colorful bits of paper raining down onto the crowd below. It may be very startling at first: there's seemingly no music to accompany the festivity, but all a character has to do is focus on the idea of hearing music for it to begin playing in their ears. The volume at which they hear the music can be controlled at will, making this a party of general comfort. The natives and even some of the gods will be caught up in dancing and general revelry until the early hours of the morning.

When the sun rises, the lanterns and confetti all simultaneously seem to dissipate into golden motes of dust that linger in lazy tufts and streams before eventually disappearing in the morning light. Good morning, Asgard. Welcome home. ♥

[ OOC: This is the intro log for the month of June! All characters will wake up in the castle and be asked to pick a god house; you can take your time figuring out this decision out-of-character, but everyone must be in a god house by the end of the IC day. All of our event logs will have a top level for the NPCs to make themselves available to you, but some of the NPC team is out of town right now, so they'll tag you back as soon as possible. [Alice blushed brightly when Giselle complimented her eyes, because as far as she was concerned, Giselle was much prettier and was the one in need of a compliment.]

Oh, ah- my name is Alice Liddell! How do you do, Miss Giselle! I think you have a very beautiful name as well.

[Alice blushed a deeper red when her hair was called stunning.] Your hair is lovely as well, I've never seen such a pretty red! And your dress! It has such pretty flowers on it! Do you like flowers?

[ The blush was noticed, but there had been other times that Giselle saw the reaction in others. Everyone deserved compliments when they were due! So, she was unrelenting with them, and her smile brightened as Alice continued to speak. Her expression did soften upon seeing the starker color on the girl's cheeks.

While the comments she intended to answer with were numerous, she chose to focus on the question posed. Right up her alley, truthfully! She gave a slight twirl of the skirt of her dress, beaming at Alice. ] Oh, thank you! And, yes. [ Her face turned serious, very engaged, but not grave or unhappy. ] I miss the gardens in Andalasia so much, especially the ones at my cabin. [ Certainly Edward's castle had more gardens than she could ever dream to see, though! ] There were daisies, roses, lilacs, petunias and pansies. Anything you could ever imagine. Oh! And, the lilies. [ She gave a sigh, one might call swooning, but clearly in appreciation for the flora they spoke of. ]

It's such a pleasure to meet you too, Miss Alice. [ A beat. ] What a sweet way to address another beautiful woman. [ All girls are princesses, thus are all women, and thus was Giselle's logic. ] You are so kind. Your hair shines like the sun.

[ She paused once more, head tilting a teeny bit. ] You showed up here this morning, too, right? I think they told me that many of the people here did... [ It's alarming, but her mood shifted only slightly to one of light concern, curious to hear more from Alice, rather than to bring the mood down. ]

[This was such a nice woman! And so terribly pretty as well. She reminded her of fairytale princesses though she couldn't place why as she was rather sure she hadn't read of any princess Giselle. Her thoughts were immediately pulled away at the mention of gardens and Alice perked up and clasped her hands together.]

I adore flowers! Can you speak to your flowers? Are lilies your favorite? Lilies have all sorts of wonderful meanings you know! Lilies are some of my favorite flowers too! Is Andalasia where you're from? [Alice could talk about flowers all day if Giselle let her.] I love to make flower crowns and sit and talk to them for hours in gardens and fields!

[Alice blushed again when she was called beautiful and the way her hair shown. She had never received so many compliments, honestly, she never received that many compliments at all. It was a vast difference from the Looking Glass and Wonderland to be sure. ] I think you are much kinder than I, Miss Giselle.

[At the question of arrival, she nodded.] I did... but I didn't come with Kitty and she had been right in my arms. I hope she and Dinah and Snowdrop are alright. Those are my cats, you see. Kitty and Dinah are all black but Snowdrop is all white. But they aren't here, no one I know from home is here.
