"Ah," she said. "I suppose I knew that monks had different jobs in the monasteries. For whatever reason, I kept thinking that most of them spent a lot of time copying books, making all of those beautiful illustrations that appeared in books at that time." It had amazed her that they were all done by hand. No typewriters to help at all.
