NEW LOCATION: STIARNA SJÓN
Who: ANYONE
What: the grand opening of Stiarna Sjón
When: vaguely now-ish
Where: Mimir's district
Warnings: N/A!

With new technologies being introduced to the city and varied worldviews continuing to collide into one another, Mimir has seen fit to gather these thought experiments together into one place for easy discussion and observation. What wonders can the mortal mind develop when given a platform to explore freely? This is a question Asgard as a whole seeks to answer; Stiarna Sjón is a place to recognize, appreciate, and build upon these new ideas.
Here, you can wander through exhibits that proudly display various new inventions, both successful and failed, that people have been working on throughout Asgard. Descriptions and explanations are written beside most of the creations, some with personal comments from the creator on what they were attempting to achieve. People mill around them, curious for curiosity's sake or perhaps trying to learn more to fuel their own endeavors. You might find some familiar work here, be it your own or another Wanderer's that you recognize, and everything is tagged with credit to the original inventors.
Deeper still into the exhibit, you will find openly available rooms for observing the stars. Which stars, you ask? All of them. The rooms have a control system for conjuring up whichever star system you are interested in studying, be it from your world or someone else's, which will then be projected into the room as though you are standing at the center of the universe. You can move through the hologram to observe different parts of the galaxies displayed, stopping just short of being able to make out the details of any one particular cosmic body.
Overall, Stiarna Sjón is a place for contemplation and exploration, whether purposeful or for simple enjoyment. There is much to be learned from one another when information is shared freely, and here, it is boldly celebrated for all to see for themselves.
[ OOC NOTE: This is the grand opening of Stiarna Sjón, a new location in Mimir's district that will be available for use from this point forward! This one was made with the help of Finn, who posted about it on the network over here. We have a bunch of other new locations being added all the time, so please do let us know if you have any questions or ideas! Enjoy, friends! ]

The former Stormtrooper is standing in the middle of the stars, watching the planets in their orbit. This time it looks like the Hosnian system shortly before its destruction by Starkiller Base. He looks rather somber.]

Is this your home, draumur?

Baw, hopefully Mimir's head will only come off only after the Wanderers have departed.
Though, at least in God of War's version he did still remain chipper.Finn starts—just a little—at the voice, having been too engrossed in the system he's looking at to keep his normal soldier's at-ease watch. He looks over his shoulder to spot a Wanderer he hasn't met yet, and gives a sort of sad smile.]
Don't know. It's part of my home. [Looking at the planet that was once the main planet of the Republic.] Or was... I'm not sure which planet I'm from originally.

[ Turgon does not quite run, but is is clearly been moving very fast, the little kittne in it's carrier on his back looking most displeased.
But he stops in the middle of the room and looks up at the stars and the look on his face can probably be described as sheer wonder ]
A Elbereth, Gilthoniel!
[ The hymn whispers from his lips in awe ]
Silivren penna miriel

Fanuilos, le linnathon

Finn starts slightly at the familiar voice, but Turgon's awe makes him grin.]

[Wander shuffles up to the display of the planet, eating in the details of the surface.]
This planet must be huge. Are you from here? [He can't even see any towns on the surface, but those bumps must be mountain ridges or very detailed trails of dirt.]
no subject
Looking at you Jakku. Are detailed enough.Finn shakes his head.] No. At least I don't think so. It's just one of the many systems my world has. Or it was.

They're very beautiful.
[ she observes as she comes to a stop alongside him, head tilted up his way. Her arms are folded around her sketchbook, which is pressed to her chest, and her eyes are curious in a way that suggest she's trying not to be too much so. ]
Did you pick them?
[ This set of stars and planets, that is - galaxy, or system, or what have you. The terminology isn't exactly her strong suit. ]
no subject
Finn starts just a little, looking down at her before nodding his head.] Kind of? They were from my home but they're no longer...no longer in the sky. [Looking back up at them.] I figured I'd at least give them a place to exist again.
[Even if the people can't have an existence anymore.]

[ True to his word too, Peter shows up as soon as he's able, looking for his friend. Hes so excited about the new place it looks like Christmas came early for him. His familiar Sandy is also in the shape of a weasel today, clinging to his own shoulders. ] Look at that, we match.
[ Peter looks around them in amazement, taking in the gorgeous view of the Hosnian System before he notices Finn's serious expression. ] Sorry, did I caught you at a bad time?
no subject
His grin turns a little sad as he glances back at the system currently shown.] Not really. Just making sure this memorial system was accurate.

They're all vibrant and unique, some with cities and some entirely natural. Others look as if they couldn't possibly have any life on them.
It's easy to notice that they are very small, judging by the scale of the settlements. Either that or the buildings must be hundreds of miles high.]
Hey! Come look at this! [Wander calls anyone passing by to join him as he points to his newest display.]
no subject
Curiosity drives her to take a look and see who called out, and then she definitely recognizes the source of that voice. Wander stands out too much to not be instantly recognizable. ]
.. Huh? What is it?

Now... he stares in awe, sitting down as he gazes at the stars. Even if it's not real, he can't help but watch. He even reaches out his fingers, knowing full well he can't them, but still... This way, he looks more like a child - or at least the child he never got to be.]

Hearing him speak only seemed to reinforce the image.] Indeed, stars, and a great deal many of them. [He'd spent many a night under various skies, but none left him feeling the vastness they gave off now.]

Curiosity had her looking through the various inventions, reading and trying to get an idea on why some worked and others had failed. This was nearly as good enough to make up for not going to a proper school back home; certainly felt more interesting than tea lessons and embroidering (however useful both of those were, these just felt more..practical).
It's the planetarium that catches her interest. She's only seen the occasional map of the stars and planets, all vague and clearly a little at a time-never this vast or detailed. Of course, this was way more impressive than any drawing or even a painting.
She's spending a good deal longer in those rooms than the ones with the devices. Every so often (well more than often), she'll ask someone on the name of the planet and whatever information they had on it.

He's not really expecting to be drawn into conversation, and certainly not expecting a question, so it catches him off guard for a moment. Still he turns to follow her line of sight to the display of a planetary system, trying to force recognition upon it.
"Not quite sure what it is." He squints again at the display she's pointed out, but it doesn't resolve itself into anything familiar. He's not quite sure if it's something he should know and the knowledge had been taken from him or the place is just outside his experience. "Or where, I guess it would be, not what."

Or at least render them in any satisfying kind of way, that is. It's somewhat outside of her purview, considering Naminé has spent most of her time drawing people or places where the sky counts as little other than a backdrop. But she's made the effort today, curled up in a corner with her sketchbook propped on her legs as she squints against the harsh contrast of the glowing stars and the dark of the room itself. It's probably silly for her even to try, but--
At least this attempt is looking more promising than the last three. She's got several points of light carefully marked out, the darkness partially shaded in to give them form, and they actually resemble the right arrangement this time now that she's gotten used to the details. It might even be considered to be going well until, ]
-- Oh!
[ Snap goes her only dark blue pencil's tip. With a sinking feeling, she realizes she quite overlooked bringing a sharpener. Pardon her, then; she'll just be sitting here staring forlornly at her unfinished drawing and the tool responsible for leaving it so. ]
no subject
No idea until she hears the sound, that is. The snapping of the pencil tip makes her glance around to see what happened, and it's then that she discovers Naminé sitting there.
Chizuru looks a little surprised, but then quickly makes her way over to the girl. ]
Oh..! I'm sorry, I didn't see you there. [ Not that she really has to apologize, but Chizuru is so polite that she feels like she was accidentally ignoring the other regardless. ] Were you drawing..?
